LEFTY: Not everybody is "perfect"

Part of rescuing lost and found turtles and tortoises is realizing that some may appear "less than perfect." But SDTTS member, Christy Carlson, suggests the "imperfections" are what makes them so charmingly SPECIAL!

This is Lefty! Lefty got his name as a direct result of the characteristic that makes him so special. Lefty is missing the last part of his left leg. Does that slow him down? Absolutely not! He is just as agile and healthy as our many "normal" tortoises.

As you are thinking about adopting, please do not be quick to judge. Take an extra look at the "special ones" that need a loving home. We are sure you will find that their imperfections will grow to be the traits you come to love most.

P.S. - Lefty has been adopted.
