Softshell turtle found on beach

This female Florida softshell turtle was rescued this week with the assistance of the San Diego Humane Society. It seems someone grew tired of her and instead of calling the Society, abandoned her on a beach.

She is a fresh water turtle who prefers a pond with a sandy bottom. She's currently in rescue and would be available for adoption to someone familiar with the breed who has a proper habitat for her.
